In 1990 the Winter Haven Police Department implemented the
School Resource Officer Program in our city schools on a
full-time basis. The purpose of the program is to build
rapport between the students, school officials and parents with
the Winter Haven Police Department, plus project a positive
image of law enforcement in the Polk County School System and
the community. |

has been employed as an officer by WHPD since October 1984.
He has been a School Resource Officer for the past 13 years. |
Hired in
September 1984, Officer Youngs was assigned to a School Resource
Officer position in June 1993. |
Officer
Bradley was hired as a non-sworn Community Service Officer in
December 1991; she became a police officer in November 1993
and was assigned to a School Resource Officer position in August
2007. |
