Chief of Police

Mark LeVine started his career on road patrol in Miami Beach in 1974.  During the seven year period he worked there, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1977 from the New York Institute of Technology at Nova University and a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Biscayne College in 1978.  While with that South Florida department, he was also the liaison officer during implementation of a 911 system and construction of a new communications center.

He then began employment at the Lake Wales Police Department in 1981, serving as police chief from November 1998 until he retired from the department in July 2004.  After serving as law enforcement coordinator at the Kenneth C. Thompson Institute of Public Safety at Polk Community College (commonly called the Police Academy), he was hired to be the Winter Haven Police Department Chief of Police on October 30, 2006.
