There are five volunteer chaplains assisting the Winter Haven Police Department. Chaplains attend a luncheon meeting once a month with the department’s Administration and Investigative Bureau supervisors.  The WHPD chaplains are visible around the station and the community with their labeled polo shirts and windbreakers.  They attend the Police Memorial Service in Lakeland with department representatives every year. Chaplains are present for promotional and recognition programs held in the community room and wear a Class A uniform for these occasions.  At times officers have called out  chaplains for death notifications and with serious traffic crashes.
