On August 1, 2008, a Swearing-in and Special Recognition Ceremony was held in the Community Room at the Winter Haven Police Department.

Taking their oaths of office were new Police recruits Alisha Hensley, Jodi Lott, Hector Rivera and Aida Roias.

 

 

Chief Mark LeVine, who is on leave of absence, came to the ceremony with his family and was warmly greeted by departmental personnel.  He was presented with a shadowbox filled with law enforcement mementos.

 



 

Honored for their recent promotions were Lieutenant Eileen McNamee and Sergeant Wilton Santos.  Lieutenant McNamee, with the department since October 1995, was promoted to her current rank on April 7, 2008 and is assigned to the Patrol Division.  Currently she is the second highest ranking female officer at WHPD.  Also promoted that date was Sergeant Wilton Santos who was hired in August 2002 and is currently the highest ranking Hispanic officer in the department.

Civilian members LaTonya Harris, Records Clerk Supervisor, and Communications Shift Supervisors Jennifer Henderson and Christina Barlow were recognized for their recent promotions.

Reverends Clifton Dollison and Samuell Pounds were recognized and honored for the role they play as chaplains for the department.  They were given badges and took an oath of office.
