Captain Lisa Albury was hired on December 8,
1986 as a Police Officer I. In August 1991, she was
assigned to the Motor Squad. She was not only WHPD's
first female motorcycle officer but also the first in Polk
County. Through her tenure, in addition to serving in
Patrol and the Motor Squad, she has been assigned to the
Neighborhood Patrol Unit (later known as Community Policing
Division), Tactical Narcotics Unit and the Professional
Standards Unit for the Accreditation process and Personnel
Recruitment.
In June 1998 she was promoted to Sergeant and
a year and a half later in December 1999 was promoted to
Lieutenant. In April 2007 she was promoted to Captain
and assumed command of the Investigative Services Bureau.
On October 1, 2009, Captain Albury was placed in charge of
the Uniform Services Bureau.
Captain Albury has an A.S. degree from Polk
Community College and is presently working on her Bachelor's
degree at Barry University. |
