Central Florida, the City of Winter Haven is the
second largest municipality in Polk County with a population of
approximately 34,464. The City is 39.7 square miles with more than seven square
miles being comprised of the Chain of Lakes.
The Winter Haven Police Department consists of 82 sworn
officers and 23 civilians. Our Department is a full-service agency
which has been state-accredited by the Commission for Florida Law
Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) since 2002.
The Winter Haven Police Department re-affirms its dedication
to providing the best possible law enforcement services as well as
programs for the community. These programs include D.A.R.E.,
Police Explorers, Neighborhood Watch and numerous Crime Prevention
functions. Additionally, training and education of our officers
are stressed in order to remain responsive to community needs.
